Kerstin is Home!!!

Dear Friends and Family,

There is no doubt in our minds that prayer is very powerful. Kerstin is getting to go home about one week earlier than originally expected! Her counts came up fast enough, and she has been without a fever long enough that the doctors feel she has recovered enough to get rid of “the anchor”. She is not without limits though. The doctors have placed criteria on where she can go, who she can be around, etc… It all kind of depends on her counts. (The counts if you’re wondering are her Absolute Neutrophil Count (ANC). There’s some math involved. ☺)

We are looking forward to getting her back home and letting life return to some sort of normalcy (whatever our new normalcy will be). Cards, letters, emails and telephone calls are welcome, but we will not be having too many visitors for awhile. We are sure you all can understand.

Once again we give thanks to God and to all of you for your prayers and support.

Jeff and Annie Leaf

YIPEE! We probably passed you on the interstate, as Abby and I were in Lincoln today picking up big sis Emma! Did you see us? Ha ha!
You are all going to sleep great now that you are all home together! Kerstin, don't make a liar out of me and make sure that you eat really, really well the next couple of days! It is always better to eat Mom's cooking! We may see you in clinic on Monday! Abby has to be there all day!
We are thinking and praying for you all!
Love,
Abby and Kristi Bridgewater

Kerstin,
You are amazing! God is amazing! We'll have extra prayers of Thanksgiving today and all week. I bet it will be great to sleep in your own bed tonight- for mom and dad too :) We'll keep praying for strength and healing and for ease of taking meds.
Hugs and prayers-
Julie Anderson
PS. Adrienne wrote the other letter- she has been saying extra prayers for you too!

Kerstin - YEAAAAA you can go home. We will continue to pray for you and that your counts keep going up. God will continue to be with you and your family as you build your strength. We were all shouting for joy when your mom called. Have fun playing with McKenzie. Alisha & Kathryn hope to see you soon! Love - The Baginski's

Hooray!! It may have been a tough road the last couple of weeks, but you were a tough cookie and look where it got you-home earlier than they thought! We are so proud of you and your family. We will continue to keep you and your family in our prayers so we can keep reading good news about your recovery. (Regan's entire Sunday School class has been praying for you, too.) Keep up the good work!

Kerstin and Annie, Lauren and I are so happy that you are home. You enjoy everything that you missed. It's good to lose that anchor. Lauren's counts are bottoming out after last weeks treatment so we are on germ patrol and will try to keep from having to go back to Omaha. Have a great weekend!
