Chemo takes effect

Kerstin got to go to St. E's on Monday for labs. Her counts are still high. Her ANC was over 2500! We expect that to be dropping soon as the chemotherapy gets to work. She has been feeling really tired the last few days. Today she did a lot of sleeping and not much playing. She has been nauseous and not very hungry and threw up once today. We have noticed that strong food smells make her queasy. McKinsey goes back to school tomorrow. We will miss her at home, but it will be good to get back into the routine again. I know she is looking forward to seeing all her friends. Thanks for stopping by to check on us. Leave us a message if you can! Have a blessed day!

I check on you often Kerstin. We think of you and remember that we got to spend a little time together at the hospital. Hannah is in for 5 days of chemo and gets out tomorrow. We are ALL excited. Hang in there!

Kerstin, my prayer for you tonight is that something will taste good to you tomorrow. Rest up so you feel like playing when McKinsey gets home from school. Take care.

P.S. That was sure a cute "build a bear" you made.

Kerstin,

I hope you are doing well and had a great New Year. We travelled over the break and now are fighting colds. I hope that the "crud" stays away from the Leaf family!

Even though we have not visited in a while, we do check your progress regularly, and we do pray for you each day.

Take care!

Peace,
Pastor Greg, Rose, Emilie and Alex

Dear Kerstin, We all hope you're feeling a little better today, and a LOT better tomorrow! You've been very brave through all this and we RooneyToons are very proud of you! Looked back through your blog last night -- just amazed at how far you've come and SO HAPPY in our hearts about the precious smiles & friendships we've seen along the way. :) xo

Dear Aunt Annie, Big hugs to YOU as you head back to school! Sure the familiar routine will be nice, but know it'll be hard being away those hours of the day. Bet those kids and staff members are so excited to have you back!

Know that our prayers are with you all this week! Love, love, love and xoxoxoxo!!!!

Kerstin,
Have you had a good nap today? I sure wanted one during my inservice. We're over at a friend's house watching the Texas football game. Jay's been helping them with their computer so I took over for a quick break. The boys go back to school tomorrow. Oh boy will that be a shock to their systems! They've gotten good at sleeping until about noon. The only good thing is that I only have to cook 2 meals a day instead of 3. Actually it's only 1 since they eat breakfast at noon. I'll be missing that now that we'll be back in a routine. Looking at the calendar, Jeremy has a show choir competition in Lincoln on Jan 21. I'm sure I'll be in town that day. Will you be feeling a little perkier by then?
