Hair

Kerstin is started to get frustrated with her hair. It is falling out all over the place and getting in her face, her food, etc. Combing it helps get rid of the loose ones. She isn't ready for us to help her cut it all off yet. It won't be long now, and it will all be gone on its own. It's kind of a bummer, but we know that when she is well again, it will all grow back.

Hello sweet girl! You don't know me but our family are members at Sheridan and your big sister is in the same Sunday shcool class our son Eric. Eric is a 3rd grader at your Mommy's school. I look at the pictures your mom and dad post here every day. You are going through so much right now, it must be so hard somedays. Try to remember everyday that God loves you SO MUCH and he will take care of you! He'll take care of Mom, Dad and McKensie too. So many people care about you and are praying for you all the time. Try not to worry too much about your hair sweetie. I know that will be hard, but it's unfortuanly part of the process to get you better. Maybe each time a you find a lost hair you can think of it as being that much closer to getting better? I pray that you will be be able to go home in a few weeks. You are loved beyond meausre sweet child!

Dear, dear Kerstin,

I'm sure you're getting very frustrated about your hair [and so much else]. Your Uncle Carl said something to me that made ME feel a little better: this is just one more step on the path to GETTING BETTER, and hair DOES grow back! :)

Then, of course, he pointed out Casey's shaggy mane to remind me -- guess we'd better get that Casey to a barber!

YOU know how much you're loved, but WE never get tired of reminding you. :) xoxoxoxoxo from the RooneyToons

Kerstin,
Remember that God made you a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL child! He may not have great plans for your hair, but he does have great plans for you! Get Well Soon Sweetie, I can't wait to see you back in music class!

Hi Annie and Kerstin!
Glad to hear that the counts are on their way up! Way to go! It is all of our dancing, I am sure! (ha,ha) We are praying that tomorrow is the day that you head back to Lincoln! Will you come to Omaha for counts?
The trick for getting Kerstin to eat is HOME! You will see that it makes all of the difference! Also, remember that calories are calories, whether they come from chocolate cake or broccoli! ( the cake probably has more calories) We love you and continue to pray for quick healing! Hang in there!
Love,
Kristi and Abby

Hey Kerstin,
That hair can be a real pain, can't it. Maybe you can try out some of those funky hats you have and see if they help to keep it from falling in your eyes and food. You don't want to mess up a good meal with a hairy monster if you finally feel like eating! Your hair will probably grow back all thick and curly and then I'll have to be really jealous!

Hi, Kerstin,

I've been reading your web page every day and have noticed how busy you must be with all of the "fun" activities people have been doing with you. I am sure it helps the days go by a little faster. (I'll bet your mom is liking all of the projects too, right?)

I think you are a brave little girl. I know it isn't easy having to work so hard to get well. I hope you get to go home soon.

email from the Wattles in AZ.... Kerstin will really look cute, like a pixie when her hair grows back. We think of Jeffs several times a day...
